Co-curricular Activities

At Oxford Public School, we provide an open stage for all our students to celebrate their individuality and portray their talents in a creative way. By encouraging our students to participate in numerous events, we intend them to overcome stage-fear, discover new interests and boost their confidence. The various activities conducted are gateways for the students to channelize their creative energy.

Sports and Fitness

At Oxford, we strive to strike a balance between academics and sports. Sports has been an integral part of our curriculum. It is important for children to lead an active lifestyle to stay healthy and focused.We provide intensive training to increase the athletic ability and flexibility of our students.

Over the years, we have observed maintaining a healthy mind and body is vital to achieve academic excellence. Our aim is to make our students more fit and confident, encouraging them to stay active and lead a healthy life. We train our students in Karate, Yoga, Volleyball and Self Defence

Cultural

At oxford public school, we encourage our students to indulge in co-curricular activities to enhance their creativity and inculcate public speaking skills. Students are motivated to step out of their comfort zone, which increases their confidence level and speaking skills. Students take part in different events such as dance, music, drama, mad acts conducted by various clubs under the leadership of leaders and co-leaders.

Literature and science

We conduct various events such as debating, poetry, essay writing, science exhibition, quiz to improve the students' scientific temper. Our students are encouraged to ask questions and think out of the box. We seek to provide an open stage for our students to bring out the poets and writers in them.

Clubs

Leaders Hobby Club

At oxford, we believe "Today's children are tomorrow's leaders". We motivate our students to organize various events,take responsibility and co-ordinate with their team. This is an attempt to inculcate leadership qualities in our students from a young age. We encourage them to spend more time improving and discovering new hobbies.

Literary Club

An author is a person who can make you dream with your eyes open. We inspire all our students to write out their thoughts in a creative way to explore their hidden talent. We provide them an opportunity to showcase their literary talent in our annual school magazine.

Science Club

We constantly push our students to think out of the box, find simple solutions and ask questions. We organize science exhibition and events, to motivate them to come up with innovative ideas and to ignite a spark of curiosity.

Eco Club

We take up on us the responsibility to make our students aware about the urgent global issues, be more sensitive towards our planet and follow an organic lifestyle which is sustainable. We take out students on clean up drives and field trips to make them realise the urgency of the present environmental issues.


Celebrations

As a school that celebrates the wide diversity of India, we celebrate many national and regional festivals with great enthusiasm. We want our students to understand the different religions, respect our beliefs, follow culture and grow up to secular citizens. We understand the importance of removing all kinds of indifferences from a child's mind from a very young age to live in the society with harmony and peace.

Special Practices

  • Parents' Orientation: Orientation program to the parents is organized in the month of June and the parents are informed about the curriculum, our expectations from the parents, parents expectations from the school, rubrics to the parents and suggestions from the parents.
  • Activity Based Learning: We encourage our students to learn new concepts by performing various group activities and experiments, which helps them develop leadership qualities, sense of teamwork, communication and social skills.
  • Investiture Ceremony: This a very special occasion in our campus, on this day our newly elected student union take an oath in front of all their peers to fulfil their responsibilities with dignity and honesty. It is a proud moment for all of us at oxford to witness our students take responsibility and face challenges to take our school to the next level.
  • Parent Teacher meetings: Development of a child's personality is a joint effort of parents and teachers. We conduct regular meetings with parents to inform them about the performance of their ward
  • Field Trips: We take our students on educational field trips annually, this is an effort to make them more aware about our rapidly changing environment. Visiting historic place, helps our students have a deeper understanding of our rich culture and heritage. Most importantly, the memories made on these field trips last as lifetime.
  • School Magazine: We publish an annual school magazine with articles, art work and literary works of our students. We aim to inspire our students to portray their creativity in an innovative way. Our school magazine is a repository of pictures of various events and celebrations that took place in the previous academic year.
  • Graduation Day: This a very nostalgic day at our campus, on this day we bid goodbye to the 10th grade students with a heavy heart. We wish them all the best for their future endeavours and help them take their first steps away from the comfort of their school into the real world.
